Northern Illinois Benefit Funds

Mission Statement

The Northern Illinois Benefit Fund, Northern Illinois Pension Fund and Northern Illinois Retirement Fund (collectively known as the Northern Illinois Benefit Funds) are Taft-Hartley Employee Benefit Funds that were established to provide members of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 501 with Health & Welfare, Pension and Retirement benefits for themselves and their dependents.  As a result of the collective bargaining process with the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractor’s Association of Northern Illinois, Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 501 members will continue to receive the security provided by the Northern Illinois Benefit Funds.

The Funds’ mission is three-fold:

1.    To administer the benefit plans as established by the Boards of Trustees and to make any modifications therein as needed, to continue to provide security for the future;  

2.    To educate the members and their families to fully understand their benefits and ensure that they are receiving the benefits as provided in the plan documents;  

3.    To provide superior participant services.
